About these terms
These terms cover the use of this website and set out the general basis on which Prime Build Services Ltd (11a St Mary's Street, St Neots, PE19 2TA) carries out work. The specific terms for your project are those set out in the written estimate we give you for that job; where the two differ, the estimate takes priority.
Estimates and pricing
We price work after looking at the property. Figures given before a site visit are indicative only. An estimate covers the work described in it; anything found once work has started, ground conditions, hidden structure, existing defects, is discussed with you and agreed before it is carried out or charged.
Scope of work
We do not undertake subsidence work, gas work, or the commissioning of gas or solid-fuel appliances. Where a project needs planning permission, building regulations approval, a structural engineer's design or a party wall agreement, that remains the property owner's responsibility; we will tell you when we believe something is needed and we build to the approved drawings and details supplied to us.
Programme
Timescales given are our honest expectation based on the job in front of us. Weather, ground conditions, material availability, inspections and changes you request can move them. We tell you as soon as we know a date is going to move.
Payment
Payment terms, including any staged payments for materials and completed sections of work, are set out in the estimate for your job and agreed before work starts.
Guarantee and insurance
Completed work carries a 6-month workmanship guarantee against defects in our workmanship. The guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by others, alterations made by someone else, movement or defects in existing structures we did not build, or materials supplied by you. The company holds £2 million public and employers' liability insurance. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed to you where they apply. Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights as a consumer.
